After 10 years of marriage, “Real Housewives of Potomac” star, Monique Samuels, has filed for divorce from her husband, Chris Samuels.
People Magazine received an official report on Tuesday from the Montgomery County Family Court on the status of their marriage. Monique has officially filed for divorce from the former NFL player. People previously reported that the two decided to call it quits in October of 2022. The court’s docket shows, that Monique filed a complaint for absolute divorce on April 14. She then filed an amended complaint for absolute divorce on June 15. The divorce is not final, however, the two are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
Recent Relationship Turmoil for the Samuels
Since denying the possibility of a divorce in an Instagram Reel shortly after their October split, the two have shown signs of relationship turmoil. Neither of them have appeared on each other’s respective Instagram grids since December nor have they posted anything to celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary. Additionally, Chris has unfollowed Monique and her company, Not for Lazy Moms, on Instagram.
In July 2022, Monique Samuels sat down with ET to discuss her marriage with Chris.
“We had lost all of the dating in our marriage. Once we started filming reality TV, it actually helped us because it forced us to date,” she told the outlet. “So we were able to get out, just reignite that intimacy and be excited about each other.”
She continued that season two of RHOP saved her marriage.
“And at the end of the day, sometimes you still have to come back to those moments. Because some of the things that I expressed on Love & Marriage: DC, people who watched Potomac saw I had those same concerns back then. So it’s not like this is something new.”
