Rapper Cordae recently revealed the name of the daughter he shares with famous tennis player, Naomi Osaka. The Emmy-award-winning rapper was performing at Canada’s Calgary Stampede this past weekend when he revealed the name they gave their baby who was born this week.
While at the tail end of his performance, he revealed that their newborn’s name is Shai.
“My daughter Shai was just born a couple of days ago, so I dedicate this performance to my baby girl Shai,” he told the roused-up crowd. “Love you, I’m going back home.”
A Life Update
On Tuesday, a reliable source confirmed to People that pro tennis star Naomi Osaka and her boyfriend welcomed their child in Los Angeles. As a trusted source said of the four-time Grand-slam champion and her newborn daughter, “They are doing well.”
Osaka first announced the sex of her baby in June when she shared posts from a princess-themed baby shower on Instagram. Osaka had returned from a brief social media hiatus with news of her pregnancy. On Instagram, she shared a picture of a sonogram and a message in English and Japanese for fans.
“Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023,” her caption read. “I realize that life is so short and I don’t take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘That’s my mom,’ haha.”
Osaka vowed to get back to tennis after welcoming her daughter, writing, “2023 will be a year that’ll be full of lessons for me and I hope I’ll see you guys in the start of the next one cause I’ll be at Aus 2024.
