The Olympics Games are all about grit, honor and representing your country on the World stage. Along with a commitment to fierce competition, many of the Olympians this year are known for their love for beauty. While the focus in France will be on their athletic abilities, it’s still fun to explore their love of the lighter things in life, like their beauty routines and favorite highlighters, face creams and deep conditioners.

A’Ja Wilson

WNBA star A’Ja Wilson will be playing on Team USA’s women’s basketball team this summer. On the court, the baller is known for her constant push for greatness. Off the court, she is known for her killer fashion picks and flawless makeup. Her hair is also a big part of Wilson’s beauty routine. In February, Mielle announced it’s partnership with Wilson who serves as a brand ambassador.

The Las Vegas Ace’s player told Women’s Health that her favorite Mielle products include the Rosemary Mint Strengthening Edge Gel and Scalp Hair Strengthening Oil. She also revealed that on the court she prioritizes having her eyebrows microbladed and always wears a fresh pair of lashes.

Wilson also recently revealed she takes skincare very seriously and plans to do so while in Paris.

“Just really my skincare bag,” she said in an interview with NH Experience TV. “That’s something I really need when I go over seas.”

She also mentioned she can’t live without her lip balm and gloss.

Simone Manuel

Simone Manuel is a member of Team USA Swim. It’s no secret how harsh chlorinated water can be on Black hair. In an interview with Swim Swam, Manuel shared that she keeps her hair routine very simple.

“I just kind of rinse it, wash it, condition it,” she told the outlet. “I’ve kind of been a strong advocate that it’s just hair. Me swimming and winning is more important than what my hair looks like. My mom is probably not happy with that answer because she cares more than I do,”

Manuel says she has had to find a way to be comfortable in her skin in a world dominated by people who don’t look like her.

“My hair is not going to look like everyone else’s on the deck and I’m ok with that,” Manuel said.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone

Hurdler and sprinter, Syndey McLaughlin-Levrone, is definitely one to watch at this year’s Olympics. When not on the the track, McLaughlin-Levrone takes special care of her skin. It’s not always easy for her, as the athlete has shared that she continues to struggle with acne as an adult.

“I would still say I’m going through ‘puberty.’ Like, I still have a lot of acne. My skin is constantly changing depending on the weather,” McLaughlin-Levrone said in a Harper’s BAZAAR video showing her nighttime skincare routine. “My products tend to fluctuate in some areas but there are some things that always remain the same.”

McLaughlin-Levrone shared that she loves Neutrogena’s Night Calming Makeup Wipes, Clinique’s Take the Day Off Makeup Remover and LANIEGE Multi Deep Clean Cleanser.

“The more makeup you take off then the less work, I would say, your cleanser has to do,” McLaughlin-Levrone shared.

She also let fans in on her secret weapon: tea tree oil. McLaughlin-Levrone says applying tea tree oil to her problem areas before bed can help fight acne.

As for her hair, McLaughlin-Levrone walked fans through her hair routine on her Youtube channel. She shared that she uses Eco Style Gel, a water bottle and two different brushes to achieve her race day hair look.

“It can take anywhere from two hours to three hours,” McLaughlin-Levrone said.

Simone Biles

In her recently released docuseries, “Simone Biles Rising,” the gymnast opened up about her hair and the public’s response to it. The documentary also showed some touching moments when Biles’ mother braided her daughter’s hair. Biles is a spokesperson for K18 hair repair and can be seen featured in the brand’s online advertising. She told Elle Magazine that she uses the leave-in mask and hair oil and says that the products have helped her hair feel “silky, strong and beautiful.”

Makeup is obviously a major part of Biles’ get ready routine when she’s preparing for a competition or to step on a red carpet. In a video created for InStyle Magazine, Biles walked fans through her beauty routine before an awards show. For skin prep, she opts for SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. She calls the product “miracle water” and highly recommends it. It’s clear the SK-II brand is a favorite as she showed the products off again in a makeup guide for Vogue. In the video, she used the SK-II face wash and facial treatment mask. For makeup, Biles uses Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation and Pat McGrath Labs Mothership V Eyeshadow Palette.

Like McLaughlin-Levorne, tennis star Coco Gauff, has given all the details on her nighttime skincare routine but admits she is no expert.

“This is my nighttime skincare routine for someone who has no idea what they’re doing but is just trying her best,” Gauff started off her TikTok video.

In the video she shares that she has oily skin and likes to double cleans using CeraVe and Fenty Skins Total Cleans’r. She also shows herself using COSRX’s Snail Mucin Power Essence, Topicals Faded Serum and and Sunday Riley 5 Stars Retinol + Niacinamide Eye Serum.

“I like this. I don’t know if it actually does anything for my eyes,” Gauff says in the TikTok video with a laugh. “But it feels nice. I also don’t know if eye cream is a scam or not but I’m going to participate.”

While the athlete may not be sure about eye creams, there is one product she stands by in her beauty routine. That’s The Ordinary’s Multi-Peptide Brow and Lash Serum.

“The product I recommend most out of my skincare routine is this,” she said showing off the tube of serum. “Get it, now!”
