It's Christmas time, and while most naturalistas are placing their hair in protective style custody this winter, one naturalista is letting her locks flow because she’s been nice and Santa’s got some gifts for her hair.

In “The Naturalista’s 12 Days of Christmas” music video, Black Santa surprises an unsuspecting naturalista with presents. Some gifts — like a hot oil treatment — are expected, but some — well let’s just say that there’s a big surprise at the end!

The video's creator, writer and actor Chanté Griffin, shares what inspired the project: “Every time I wash my hair, I pray for things I know my 4b/4c hair will never have: continuous moisture, a magic detangler, or a one-hour wash day. So I made a comedic video to highlight some of the gifts I wish Black Santa would bring my hair for Christmas.”

“I did the big chop nearly two years ago,” continues Griffin. “This music video celebrates the natural hair journey and pokes fun at some of the not-so-great aspects of it. I think Black women at any stage of the natural hair care journey will relate to it.”
