Spring is just around the corner, and this means it's time to deep clean your home room by room. To make things less overwhelming, break down your tasks into smaller chunks. If you need to clean out the refrigerator, you can set aside time to throw out your old food items and then carve out more time to remove the remaining food items from cabinets and shelves. Also, delegate some cleaning tasks so the majority of the duties won't fall solely on you.

We all know spring cleaning can get boring at times, but try creating a playlist with your favorite songs to make it fun for everyone! Here are a few other ways to jumpstart your spring cleaning duties!

Do A Little Each Day

When it comes to spring cleaning, you can do a few tasks each day instead of cramming everything into one weekend. One of the best ways to do this is by doing a set number of tasks on each day of a specific week. Perhaps on Monday, you can tackle the bathroom and master bedroom, and on Tuesday, you might decide to work on decluttering and deep cleaning the kitchen. On Wednesday, you would rearrange the living room furniture and dust everything in the living room. On Thursday, you can spruce up the front porch and backyard, and on Friday, you might do some work in the basement. You can then end the week by cleaning and decluttering the garage.

Tackle Areas that Haven't Been Cleaned in Months

One aspect of spring cleaning is that you clean areas of the home that haven't been touched in weeks or even months! These include:

  • Dishwasher
  • Washing machine or dryer
  • Areas behind and underneath appliances such as the stove and refrigerator
  • Curtains
  • Top of cabinets
  • Ceiling fans
  • Kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom drawers

Get the Garden Ready for Spring

Now would also be a favorable time to prep your garden for the spring months. The first step is to eliminate all large branches, leaves, debris, and trash from the space where you'll plant your garden. You should also prepare the soil by raking it and getting rid of the weeds. Add compost to feed the soil essential nutrients that will promote growth for your crops.

Hopefully, these tips will help you begin the spring cleaning process efficiently and productively.
