Nicki Minaj is setting the ball rolling for her forthcoming project. The “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” rapper announced Thursday, the title of her album as well as its release date.
In an Instagram post, Minaj shared the cover photo of her debut album, Pink Friday amd a heartfelt caption that disclosed updates about her upcoming album.
“Dear Barbz, I’ve been trying to find the right time to tell you this for a few days,” she began.
She continued, telling fans that due to some exciting news that she will reveal later, she’s had to shift the album date.
“Trust me, it’ll be WELL WORTH THE WAIT. But since I AM shifting the date just a tad, I’d like to give you guys a tiny SIP of some more album tea so that I don’t have to get cussed out so…here it goes: MY NEW ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED ON 11.17.23,” she wrote.
Minaj went on to share that the upcoming work will be called “Pink Friday 2.”
“I love you guys so much. I am so grateful for the years of support & love you guys have given me,” her caption continues . “At times maybe I didn’t even deserve all that you have poured into me. Nonetheless, you. will. love. this. album. I will give tour deets closer to that time, but obviously the tour will start around the first quarter of 2024. l’ll also share the REAL album cover at a later date.”
A Grand Return
Nicki Minaj’s upcoming album will be her first in five years and is being preceded by a number of singles including “Super Freaky Girl” which samples Rick James. She also released her 2009 mixtape, “Beam Me Up Scotty” in 2021.
The news of her comeback has been heartily received with her Instagram announcement reaching over a million likes in six hours. In early June, the rapper had teased an October release of this highly anticipated project.
