Pullover! Issa Rae and the City Girls are collaborating on what we know will be our new favorite show! On the heels of breaking our hearts by announcing that the forthcoming season of Insecure will be the last, the multi-hyphenate creator is back with a show that we cannot wait to see!
Yesterday it was reported that Issa has tapped everyone’s favorite rap duo to executive produce her newest project, Rap Sh*t for HBOMax.
HBO has ordered eight episodes of the show that will follow two estranged high school friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group. There isn’t much more information about the show as of now, but casting is said to be underway while the pilot episode will be written by Issa herself with production starting this summer.
Under her Raedio audio content company, Issa will also oversee the music supervision, so I’m sure we’re about to hear a soundtrack like no other throughout the seasons. So happy to have more Issa on our screens!
