We all know that when Rihanna does something she does it in her own unique way and like no other. We didn’t expect anything less from her maternity shoot and per usual our good sis understood the assignment and delivered!

Rihanna, who’s currently in her third trimester of pregnancy and expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, breaks the internet with her baby bump on the May cover of Vogue and goes into detail about her experience on becoming a mom.

We knew once Rihanna made the baby announcement her style would remain the same and if anything would only get better with time.

“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle,’ ” Rihanna says. “I’m sorry — it’s too much fun to get dressed up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”

She does however admit her stylist “loses sleep” over her wanting to maintain her pre-pregnancy looks, “because my measurements can literally change from hour to hour. In fact I’m sure he’s going to ask for a raise after this!” she jokes.

“The closest thing to maternity clothes that I’ve worn so far,” says Rihanna, is a sheer black naked dress at the Dior Autumn Winter 2022 show during Paris Fashion last month.

One thing is for sure, Rihanna is helping to change the standards of how pregnant women should dress or behave and tells Vogue she hopes she has been “able to redefine what’s considered decent for pregnant women in terms of clothing.”

“My body is doing incredible things right now, and I’m not going to be ashamed of that. This time should feel celebratory. Because why should you be hiding your pregnancy?”

Rihanna

We couldn’t agree more! Rihanna also went into details about her relationship with fashion killa, A$AP Rocky, and how he became more like family over the quarantine period.

He became my family in that time. People don’t get out of the friend zone very easily with me,” she said. “And I certainly took a while to get over how much I know him and how much he knows me, because we also know how much trouble we can land each other in.”

Rihanna says she and boyfriend A$AP Rocky weren’t necessarily planning the pregnancy, but they certainly weren’t “planning against it,” either.

“I don’t know when I ovulate or any of that type of s—. We just had fun,” she tells Vogue. “And then it was just there on the test. I didn’t waste any time. I called him inside and showed him. Then I was in the doctor’s office the next morning and our journey began.”

“I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side,” RiRi added. As for approval from her mother, the “We Found Love” singer admitted that her mother, Monica Braithwaite, approved of their relationship when the couple later visited her native home in Barbados.

“My mother has a really good read on people. She observes first and then she’ll move slowly. I guess I’m like that too,” she said. “There are some guys that I’ve dated that she won’t even look at to this day. But she was charmed by him from the jump.”

Rihanna

While Riri feels comfortable enough to take on motherhood and life with A$AP Rocky by her side, she still has some reservations about becoming a new mom. Rihanna says when it comes to breastfeeding she’s praying her body allows her to do it — and the part of new parenthood that she is most afraid of is the possibility of postpartum depression.

“Will I feel out of control emotionally? Those are the stories I hear from other women that scare me,” she adds.

As the world awaits the arrival of the couple’s first born, Rihanna continues to bask in the beauty of love surrounding her while also serving up looks as inspiration for the pregnant girls.
