Riverdale actress and mother Vanessa Morgan just launched her collaborative mommy and me collection with Cupshe. It’s named The River, which is the name of her son.
The drop consists of 31 pieces, consisting of monokinis, two-piece swimsuits, maxi dresses and more. There’s also a selection of mommy and me coordinating outfits. Early access to the brand begins May 11 at 9 a.m. PST. The full launch is on May 12.
If you never heard of Cupshe, then this is the perfect chance to get to know the brand. Cupshe has an assortment of resort-inspired clothing and accessories. Some of the items that the retailer sells are swimsuits, maxi dresses, children’s swimwear and summer hats.
What inspired The River Collaboration with Vanessa Morgan and Cupshe?
The longtime fashion lover revealed that she jumped on the opportunity as soon as it crossed her path. The River was inspired by her son’s love for water.
“Swimming is his favorite thing to do, … so I wanted the collection to have a nature-water vibe, as when I think of my son that’s what I think of,” Morgan said to 21Ninety. “We started designing in the fall of 2022, and it was such a joy to see it all come together.”
After a six-month process of creating this swimwear collection with Cupshe, Morgan said that collection finally make its debut has her feeling overjoyed.
“It feels so good to have this collection launch, as I really put my heart into it,” Morgan said. “[With it] being called the River collection and dedicated to him, I’m so happy to have this memory with him for life.”
She said she wants all moms to feel “beautiful and confident” wearing the swimsuits from this drop.
“I hope [all moms] find a suit that fits their body type perfectly, and I hope they love matching with their little ones,” Morgan said.

Morgan pointed out three of her favorite pieces from the 31-piece collection. She called the X Vanessa Wild Whisper Belted Monokini Swimsuit “super sexy.” Her favorite in the mommy and me collection is the brown patterned skirt wrap and tank. The adult set has a pattern that works with both the X Vanessa Girls Vacation Paisley Print Pants and X Vanessa Boys Vacation Paisley Print Overalls.
The proud mom also named the X Vanessa Boys Midnight Rose Swim Board Shorts as a favorite piece of hers, since it’s heavily inspired by her son.
“[River’s] eyes are blue so I wanted to make the matching trunks blue,” she said.
