Serena Williams recently recalled the moment her daughter Olympia called her out for wearing a wig. On Sunday, the renowned tennis star took to her Twitter to share the hilarious exchange that took place. In her tweet, she wrote, “Nice lady: I love your hair. Me: Awww Thanks!
Olympia: It’s a WIG!!!”
Since Sunday, the tweet has received over 140,000 likes and 8 million views. The tweet inspired a bonding moment for other parents who recalled the times their children playfully called them out as well.
Another Baby On The Way
41-year-old Serena Williams is currently pregnant with her second child. She retired in September 2022 citing a need to focus on taking care of and building her family.
“I’ve been reluctant to admit that I have to move on from playing tennis. It’s like a taboo topic. It comes up, and I start to cry. I think the only person I’ve really gone there with is my therapist,” she said in her Vogue Cover story where she formally announced her retirement.
Williams shares both children with her husband and co-founder of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian. Williams has been open about her second pregnancy. In late June, she posted a picture on Instagram featuring herself relaxing with Olympia on a black couch. In the caption of her post, she wrote “Behind the scenes … On set in hot weather trying to look cool,” she didn’t make mention of or hint at what project she was on set for.
On Tuesday, she also posted a video of herself in a yellow two piece bra top and flowing skirt. In the video she is seen dancing to Beyoncé’s “Energy”. In the caption, she made mention of being on set again, still without revealing much about the project. “I was doing some hip isolations ….. behind the scenes on set while waiting to resume shooting helps keep baby healthyyyyyyy,” she said.
