Look, the dating landscape is pretty trash nowadays. More and more women are choosing to date themselves, with some even considering celibacy. But some of us still want to have a hot girl summer. And Nivea, the new host of “Asking For a Friend” is giving us the inside scoop on how to do just that.

What Is “Asking For a Friend?”

“Asking For a Friend” is a 21Ninety original podcast that delves into sex, relationships, and other trending topics. Its first season was hosted by author and relationship columnist Elisabeth Ovesen.

You might recognize Ovesen as the sultry seductress featured in a number of popular music videos in the early 2000s. And her first three books, “Confessions of a Video Vixen,” “The Vixen Diaries,” and “The Vixen Manual: How to Find, Seduce & Keep the Man You Want,” flew off the shelves, earning spots on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Her expertise in all things sex and relationships attracted many fans to the podcast. And due to its success, “Asking For a Friend” is back for another season, but this time, with a new host.

Introducing Nivea

Nivea is the newest host of season 2 of “Asking For a Friend.” You might know her as The-Dream’s ex-wife or Lil’ Wayne’s baby mama. Or maybe you recognize her from Mystikal’s hit song, “Danger (Been So Long).” But listen, Nivea is much, much more than that. And she isn’t here to play.

As the new host of the raw and relatable podcast, Nivea is ready to sip and spill all the tea. So you’d better buckle up because you’re in for a wild ride. Because Nivea isn’t holding back, and we’re here for it all. Here are five facts about Nivea and why “Asking For a Friend” season 2 will be everything you didn’t know you needed:

Nivea is not one to hold back, especially when it comes to her past. In a 2021 “On That Note” interview with Kandi Burruss, Nivea sat down to discuss her relationships, and how they made her who she is today.

She talked about her relationship with Lil’ Wayne and how he urged her to leave her career to stay at home. But later, when she learned that Wayne had rekindled a relationship with his child’s mother and reality TV star Toya Johnson, she was left devastated.

She also talked about her divorce from The-Dream, and subsequent reconciliation with Wayne. The couple announced their pregnancy in 2009, but not long after, actress Lauren London revealed that she was also expecting a child by Wayne.

Even though she was hurting, she didn’t point fingers. Instead Nivea learned and grew. She and London formed a close bond and friendship during their pregnancies. And after the interview, Johnson and her daughter Reginae Carter took to social media to express their love and admiration for her — an example of women sticking together.

Nivea has a lot of experience when it comes to the Hollywood industry. She started her career as a singer in the early 2000s. And her song “Don’t Mess With My Man” earned her massive success, putting her on the map.

The song featured Brian and Brandon Casey of the popular R&B group Jagged Edge. And she’s no stranger to celebrity circles. The “Laundromat” hitmaker is beloved by many celebrities, having worked with so many throughout her career.
