Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens prove young Black love is alive and well. On May 6, the couple tied the knot again in Cabo San Lucas. On Instagram, Biles, 26, hinted she was leaving for her international wedding. The gymnast shared a photo of Owens, 27, smiling gleefully and captioned it “& we’re off,” followed with bride and groom emojis.

Saying “I Do” (The First Time)

Biles and Owens met on a dating app and the rest was history. The successful duo got married April 22 at the Harris County Courthouse after three years of dating. During the ceremony, Biles wore a flowy, white halter dress and Owens wore a tan ensemble. During a previous social media post, Biles told a fan she had to get married in the U.S first since the couple was planning a destination wedding.

The couple got married in front of 144 of their closest family and friends. On social media, Biles said the plan was for the wedding’s decor to include, “a champagne, gold, and white color scheme.” People Magazine reported the wedding party included eight bridesmaids and seven groomsmen. The Daily Mail caught glimpses of the bridesmaids and groomsmen wearing blue tuxedos and champagne colored dresses.

Biles wore a dazzling, ornate, lace wedding gown down the aisle with her father, Ronald Biles. Her hair, that has been scrutinized in the past by internet trolls, was filled with soft curls. She added a mid length veil to top off the look. Biles and Vogue Weddings shared behind the scene footage from the gymnasts dress fitting the day before her wedding. Owens stuck with a neutral look again, wearing a beige tuxedo and bowtie.

The couple’s altar was decorated with green and white flowers. After sharing their vows, they kissed and embraced each other.

Wedding guests celebrated Owen and Biles’ love affair while wearing white. They showered the couple with congratulations, tequila shots, and lots of hugs.
