Music fans were gifted with a two new video releases Thursday as singers Janelle Monáe and Victoria Monét separately shared new content. Listeners have been eagerly awaiting new music from both artists and from initial reviews online, neither disappointed.

“Lipstick Lover”

Along with the release of Monáe’s, “Lipstick Lover,” the singer also revealed her new album, “The Age Of Pleasure.” The NSFW video opens with a kiss shared between Monáe and another woman. As the music begins, viewers are treated to a track with a Caribbean vibe and visuals, that can best be described, as a celebration of queerness.

“I love how she highlights natural beauty!! All shapes, colors, and sizes!” one YouTube commenter wrote.

The song premiered on Apple Music 1 where the singer shared details of her new album with Zane Lowe.

“All the songs were written from such an honest space. Look, it never stops. Even with this album, this project. I’m just like, “You know what? It takes work,” Monáe said on the show.

“Lipstick Lover” follows the first single from the upcoming album, “Float.” “The Age Of Pleasure” is set to be released on June 9.

“Party Girls”

Monét’s Thursday release was also a provocative offering. The singer and dancer made several wardrobe changes throughout the “Party Girl” music video, first starting in a beaded two-piece costume. In the video she dances sensually with men and women. She also shows off her much-talked about solo dance skills. The song features Buju Banton and elements of reggae are infused throughout the production. In the sultry, dimly lit visuals Monét also dons a metallic top with denim shots and a sparkly body hugging top with cutouts.

Monét previously teased “Party Girls” on her Instagram page. It follows the release of her song and video “Smoke” which she dropped in March. At the time, the singer said the song marked the start of “a new era” for her.
