Day Six Coffee

Located in downtown Houston, Day Six Coffee is the perfect way to start your day. Brothers RJ and Ian Wilson own and operate the coffee shop, and Ian is even responsible for the homemade and delicious cinnamon rolls. Whether you are looking for a lavender latte, a black coffee (coined the #DowntownDrip), a brisket taco or a breakfast sandwich, Day Six Coffee has got you covered. 

On the first and third Fridays of every month, Day Six Coffee hosts Jazz Nights. Enjoy a night of live music with beer and wine specials, which is a perfect date night for Black singles in Houston.

Five Central 

Five Central is a space that has a little bit of something for everyone. From a restaurant to cigar lounge, Five Central is perfect to dip your toe into the Houston nightlife. They have weekly happenings, including Friday Night Socials and Oxtail Nights on Thursdays.

The Address

Black singles in Houston, if you are looking for a night out vibe, try out The Address. The venue offers a large space that offers a restaurant, bar, happy hours, large TVs to watch sporting events, a Sunday brunch and a nightly club atmosphere.  

Houston Museum of African American Culture

The Houston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC) is a nonprofit that exists to collect, conserve, explore, interpret and exhibit the material and intellectual culture of Africans and African Americans. On any given week, you’ll find a variety of art exhibits, film screenings and educational programs.

Pur Noire 

Co-owners Carissa and Kenneth Stephens launched Pur Noire after a trip to Italy. The husband-and-wife team launched the first Black-owned winery and tasting room in Houston as a means of bringing people together. You can make a reservation for a guided wine tasting and indulge in up to six tastings from their ultra-premium wine collection from Napa Valley.

Bisong Art Gallery

Bisong Art Gallery is a Black woman-owned art gallery located in downtown Houston. Since opening the gallery in 2013, Carla Bisong has utilized her studio as a hub of community and creativity. The gallery specifically highlights underrepresented artists. Black singles in Houston can enjoy an afternoon date exploring the colors, textures and diverse art styles.

Urban Smoke

Urban Smoke is Houston’s premier cigar lounge. While walk-ins are accepted, reservations are highly encouraged, as the space fills up quickly. There is live music on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. If you are looking for an elevated experience, then you can even become a member.
