Hyperpigmentation is a common issue in Black skin, according to the chemist. Staples says drawn-out sun exposure without sunscreen can deepen the dark spots on the face. She says without sunscreen, the skin may appear uneven and add to excessive melanin production. She insists applying sunscreen can maintain smoother skin.

Staples confirms Black skin does have natural abilities to combat wrinkles and fine lines. However, she insists adding SPF to your skincare routine aids elasticity and fights premature aging signs. Staples says unprotected skin advances a breakdown of collagen and elastin. Make sure to incorporate an appropriate SPF to maintain young-looking skin.
Lowers the Chances Of Skin Cancer
There is a common myth that Black people can not get skin cancer. However, Staples refutes this idea. She says skin cancer in Black skin may be significantly lower than other ethnic groups, but applying a higher SPF will lower the risk of skin cancer. Staples suggests applying a higher SPF to fight harmful UV radiation” and skin cancer.
