SZA unveiled her sophomore album, “S.O.S.,” in December. The long-overdue album instantly shot to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the singer’s first chart-topper. During the first week, the album gained over 400 million streams in the U.S., thus, making “S.O.S.” the second-largest streaming week for a female artist and the third-largest of 2022 among all albums.

SZA’s album had a non-consecutive 10-week run on the Billboard 200 charts. And during that run, she kicked off her S.O.S. Tour. Billboard Boxscore said the tour grossed $34.5 million and sold over 200,000 tickets.

SZA Makes Her Own Decisions

Previously, the “Kill Bill” artist sat down with Elle and discussed how she makes her own decisions regarding her life and music. SZA told the magazine she doesn’t focus on being popular.

“I try not to care too much because I really had some deep disappointments when I would just be so invested. But I can’t invest because none of it is real,” SZA said.

The singer explained that accolades are mostly out of her control which is why she find performing so important.

“That’s why the tour matters to me. ‘Cause it’s like, No, we packed out these stadiums all over the country and that was real. That’s why I can’t let up, because at the end of the day it was like, yeah, [whatever haters say] is good and well, but just make sure you add, we have sold-out dates in all arenas,” SZA said.

No one can deny that SZA put everything into the tour. Fans were taken on a journey with the tour’s theatrics, such as SZA singing from a diving board and a ship magically appearing on stage.
