This collection was created with women from sizes 00 to 40 in mind and features “7 supremely soft, fit-first layering basics” including: turtlenecks, t-shirts, dresses and more.

“We’re aiming to show all of us, as we are. Through the campaign and the collection, we are showing the industry what fashion really looks like and we hope others will follow this example,” co-founder and CEO, Polina Veksler told As/Is.

Universal Standard was created by two friends, Veksler and Alexandra Waldman, Co-Founder and CCO, who discovered the need for a company through a conversation surrounding Waldman’s need for something to wear to an event. At the time, Veksler was surprised Waldman could not walk down New York's infamous 5th Avenue and find something to wear in her time of need, but as a size-20 woman, her options seemed to be far and few between. The friends sought to change the lack of options on the market and three years later, they are still shaking up the fashion landscape with their unprecedented line.

“We’re erasing arbitrary lines of the past in favor of a future in which women, regardless of size, can shop from the same rack. We founded Universal Standard with the singular goal of leveling the playing field and allowing all women to have equal access to style, quality, and fit,” Waldman shared with As/Is.
