Fashion designer Gabi Gregg partnered with Dove to celebrate Fat Liberation Month. In an Instagram post, she explained that “fat liberation” equals freedom.

“I’m the biggest size I’ve ever been, but I refuse to put my life on hold. #DovePartner Fat liberation is about freedom. The freedom to choose to move my body, date, socialize, eat, travel, and live life to the fullest without the shame, worry, and conditions that society tries to make us adhere to. August is dedicated to uplifting and celebrating the fat community while confronting and challenging the deeply ingrained societal biases against larger bodies. This month also highlights the rich diversity of experiences, voices, and stories that individuals in the fat community bring to the world.

NAAFA will host numerous fun and educational activities for the community that show how fat people thrive despite society’s biases and prejudices.
