Henson and Davis have enjoyed a close friendship over the years. As Black women in entertainment, the duo have always shared respect and public support for each other and the first 22 seconds of the YouTube clip below shows an insight into their relationship, so it is no surprise that Henson continues to show support.

Although she was performing in Ghana at the Global Citizen Festival, she still took to social media to show support for the movie’s release by sharing that she had bought out the theater. The “Good Days” singer, who spent some of her early years in New Jersey, encouraged people in the area to watch and support the movie.

The critically-acclaimed film instantly became a success after its release, and has since been generating a lot of buzz. According to CNBC, analysts for the box office  are expecting “The Woman King” to recoup the $50 million budget that was invested into getting the project off the ground.
