Roses are red, violets are blue, this day comes every year and yet it’s still hard to know what to do. If you’re tired of the same mundane Valentine’s Day tricks, let 2022 be the year that you make a new memory with your boo. From cool crafts to a weekend full of pampering, there are endless possibilities available to make your time together really special but, unlike other holidays, there isn’t a true break available for people to truly take the time to plan ahead for one weekend. Plus, if you’re not naturally creative, you may be a little worried about things going awry should you decide to step outside of the box. No worries, we got you. If you want to reignite the fire (or light it for the first time!), here are some cool, creative ideas to try this Valentine’s Day weekend.

Rent a movie theater.

As the pandemic is still coming to an end, movie theaters are still offering people the ability to rent out theaters and this could be a fun way to spend some one on one time. You can bring in food and drinks (check with the theater’s regulations) and truly make it a cute date night to remember. And once the lights in the theater go off, snuggle up next to your boo and hopefully you two make it to the credits.

Take a cooking class with a chef.

This could be a great way to try something that will continue to give you fun things to do together. Many chefs offer one on one cooking classes that are available to the public. You can find them online and choose the cuisine you and your lover enjoy. If you and your boo are even the slightest bit competitive, this can be a fun way to get a little healthy competition in with an added bonus for some trash talk that leads to backing up what you say later on in the evening.

Try a wine pairing event.

Wine is always a great way to set the mood and get things feeling romantic. You can find an event near you or even spring for buying a bunch of wines and pairing them at home yourselves. Not only can you learn what your partner gravitates to taste-wise, it can be a quick way to set the mood right.

Race luxury cars.

Yes, you can do that. If you and your boo love a little daredevil action, this can be a great way to get your heart rates pumping. You’ll have a good time pressing pedal to metal and then you have all night to slow things down.

Create a treasure hunt of your most memorable dates.

This is for those of you who have put in some time with your significant other. Chances are, you have markers of the memories you’ve made together and it could be nice to go down memory lane on the weekend of love. Go back to the place you had your first date for drinks, ask those friends whose house you met at to meet you for dinner and dance all night at the place you first kissed. The thought and planning to properly execute this will no doubt put a smile on your partner’s face.

Make a playlist that tells the story of your love.

If you’ll be spending time indoors or even driving around town, making a playlist that tells the story of your love can be a great way to show how much you care. At the end of the night, present your partner with a tracklist and why each song was chosen. It’s an adorable touch that shows you’ve been thinking about how much they really mean to you.

Do something that is completely new to both of you.

Usually when we’re dating, we spend our time doing things that one or both people already know how to do. We want to make a good impression, so that makes sense. But nothing brings people together like navigating something completely new with one another. Never been indoor rock climbing or axe-throwing? Add it to the list. Don’t think you can ice skate? Let’s find out! Seeing one another try and be successful is sure to be fun. While seeing each other attempt and fail will make for a hearty laugh. Step outside of the box and dare yourself to be bold.
