It seems as though Teyana Taylor will continue to collect wins all this year. The multi-hyphenate just announced that Lil’ Baby’s team has hired her as the creative director for the upcoming tour the rapper is about to embark on.
Lil Baby x Teyana Taylor
In April, Lil Baby announced his “It’s Only Us Tour” which features acts like GloRilla. The tour kicks off in Houston, Texas, and consists of 24 dates across the country. Less than two weeks before heading out on the road, the rapper has decided to bring on one of the most sought-after creative directors at the moment.
Taylor took to Instagram to share the news.
“He say ‘ITS ONLY US’ I say IT’S ONLY UP” from here,” she said in the caption. “Thank you @lilbaby & @qcmceo_p for trusting @theauntiesinc to creative direct & co-produce The #IOU tour! This one will be one for the books fasho!!”
She went on to explain that she and her company, The Aunties Production, will be in charge of music direction, choreography, production, visual content, wardrobe, and stage presence. Taylor made it very clear that she was the right person for the job.
The news of her involvement comes only a few days after Lil Baby canceled dates for the tour without much explanation. Shows in places like Phoenix, Sacramento, and Salt Lake City were impacted. However, he added two shows in New York and Philadelphia.
Creative Directing Background
Taylor has continuously proven her spot in the game after creative directing performances for several celebrity performances. She kicked off the year with her involvement with Latto’s Coachella performance back in April. Just a few weeks later, it was announced that she would be the creative director for Summer Walker. Walker has regulary received backlash from fans who criticize her lack of stage presence. After her “One Night Only” show in Atlanta, a large number of fans seemed to be pleased with the work Taylor did for Walker’s show.
Additionally, she worked with Brooklyn’s own, Lola Brooke. The rapper’s performance at Hot 97 Summer Jam was creatively directed by Taylor. She shared how proud she was of the rising rapper in a post on Instagram.
“Dear @lola.brooke Ya summer Jam debut went out with a bangggggggg!,” she wrote. “You should be very proud of yourself. You got IT!”
