Brooke gave fans an amazing performance at the annual music event held in New York. Along with performing hits like “Here i Come” and “This or That,” the rapper brought out a few friends on stage as well. Upcoming NY rapper, Maiya The Don, joined Brooke on staeg to perfrom her single, “Telfy.” Additionally, rapper Breezy Lyn, surprised fans on stage to perform with Brooke.

The rapper ended her performance with “Don’t Play With It,” in a way that fans have never seen before. Teyana Taylor upgraded the choreography, stage design, as well as the music. The new rendition of the song featured a recorded band which gave the performance a rock star twist. With hair whips, exaggerated lighting, and imaginary guitar strums, Lola Brooke gave fans a side of her that no one knew could be unlocked.

In an Instagram post, Taylor congratulated Brooke on a stellar performance and her hard work.

“Dear @lola.brooke 🌹 Ya summer Jam debut went out with a bangggggggg! You should be very proud of yourself,” Taylor wrote in the caption. “You got IT! We literally only had 2 four hour rehearsals but I had no worries.”

Taylor also thanked Brooke for trusting her and her team.

“This is just the beginning! So be ready to reach beyond the stars,” Taylor wrote.

This collaboration is the most recent in a line of work Taylor has done acting as creative director for artists. In April, Latto announced Taylor as the creative director for her Coachella performance. Just a month later, Summer Walker shared that her one night only special was creatively directed by Teyana Taylor as well. The performance garnered many positive reviews as the singer has previously been criticized for her lack of stage presence.
