Last night we witnessed Serena Williams simply being Serena Williams!
The GOAT returned to Arthur Ashe stadium last night to defeat No. 2 world-ranked Anett Kontaveit in the second round of the US Open. Serena left it all on the court and made a huge comeback in the third set. Her game was so amazing and exhilarating to watch. Even Tiger Woods, the GOAT of men’s golf, stood to his feet and pumped his fist in appreciation of her game.
After her victory she was asked is she surprising herself with her level of playing and her response was exactly what we mean when we say “Black Girl Magic.”

Tonight we get to witness greatness again but this time the GOAT will be joined by her big sister and another one of the all-time greats of the sport, Venus Williams!
Serena and Venus Williams have won 14 doubles titles together and tonight’s US Open match will be the first time a first-round doubles match will be held at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The Williams sisters will face Czech duo Lucie Hradecka and Linda Noskova at 7 p.m.
The last time the Williams sisters won the US Open doubles championship was in 1999 and 2009. Today will be the first time they play together since 2014.
