Ever wish you could try out new wines regularly without having to part with too many of your coins? Well, leave it to Black women to always come through with a solution. Founded by best friends Erica Davis and Catherine Carter, The Sip offers an array of sparkling wines and champagnes from around the world.
Laurent Perrier, Perrier Jouet, and Nicolas Feuillatte all wrapped in an eye-catching and convenient box. Ready to sip or gift. Named as one of USA Today's top three wine subscriptions, The Sip is on its way to being the perfect addition to girl's night for women everywhere. Many of us have our favorite choices when it's time to wash away the worries of our weeks but may not know where to start when we're looking for something new. The Sip takes the pressure off of the choosing and helps you give back at the same time.
The duo wanted to build a brand they saw themselves in and inspired other women to understand their unique individual palates and the power that comes with that knowledge. The Sip was built for women who, like Erica and Catherine, are passionate about wine but feel underserved and overlooked by the wine industry. Instead of trying to "squeeze into "the pre-bottled mold" or wait to be invited to have a seat at the table, the Oakland natives built their own table, one that is inclusive and welcoming for all.
Their intention is also to give back to their hometown community. With their initiative Take a Sip, Give A Sip, they've provided over 1,000 gallons of water to the East Oakland Community Project, a multi-service organization offering emergency and transitional housing in Alameda County.
