Representation is everything. When a pre-K student named August in Sugarland, Texas came to school with a beautiful braided updo, her teacher, Leigh Bishop, told her "Don't be mad at me when I come to school with my hair JUST like that tomorrow…" And although August allegedly rolled her eyes at the compliment, she was thrilled to see her teacher do just that the next day.

Bishop took a photo of the two side-by-side so August could see. Once posted to Facebook, it grabbed the attention of many, which speaks volumes for what representation means to kids everywhere.

"She was soooo tickled the whole afternoon!! It was the cutest thing," Bishop said in the comments of her viral Facebook post. She later added, "Any chance I get to make a student feel whole & important, I TAKE IT!! (Plus I REALLY loved her hair)."
