It appears Tia Mowry is ready to take a leap into the dating pool. She and Cory Hardict finalized their divorce settlement terms in April, six months after announcing their separation. Now that the dust has settled, the 44-year-old mother of two is ready to explore finding romance and she’s sharing her thoughts about this new phase in life on TikTok.

Fun Fact: I’ve never been on the dating scene my entire life 😬 So when I tell you I’m nervous and terrified of doing this whole dating thing, I mean it 😭Even though I’m in my 40’s, I feel so inexperienced! And while it would be easy to just throw in the towel and avoid the potential for awkwardness and hurt, I know God’s got me! So if you’re feeling apprehensive about new experiences, just know you got this, and we’re in this together!

“Fun Fact: I’ve never been on the dating scene my entire life,” Mowry wrote in the caption of her TikTok video. “So when I tell you I’m nervous and terrified of doing this whole dating thing, I mean it.”

In the video, Mowry lip syncs to a popular TikTok sound where a woman emulates some run-of-the-mill questions often asked on first dates. The sound insinuates that the woman is dating because she feels she should but doesn’t actually enjoy the process or the surface level questions that are usually asked such as, “how many siblings do you have.”

“Welp, never thought I’d be here, but here goes,” Mowry’s text on the video reads.

In her caption, Mowry adds that even though she is in her 40’s, she feels inexperience when it comes to dating.

“While it would be easy to just throw in the towel and avoid the potential for awkwardness and hurt, I know God’s got me!” she shared with followers.

A Transformative Split

This is the latest step in Mowry’s reinvention since her divorce. She often shares on social media about her journey of starting over in her 40s.

“Just know you can keep reinventing yourself ‘til you are the best version of yourself!” Mowry wrote in one Instagram caption.

Mowry announced the couple’s divorce last October. After 14 years of marriage, the two decided to go their separate ways and have agreed to share legal and physical custody of both of their children.
