Tiffany Haddish is back and “she ready.” After taking some time to herself, the comedian has returned to the public eye and now she’s in the producer chair. According to a new press release, Haddish and her She Ready Production Company have entered into a development deal with Hearst Media Production Group to produce two unscripted series.
As a woman with over 100 credits in acting, producing, and writing, she is definitely the woman for the job. Haddish’s credits include the 2017 Will Packer comedy, “Girls Trip.” Additionally, she hosted and executive produced the Emmy-nominated, Netflix stand-up comedy series “Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready.” Haddish is also gearing up to star in Disney’s newest film, “The Haunted Mansion,” debuting in July.
Tiffany Haddish’s Role
The first original series her company will executive produce will be a documentary. The series will explore the dynamic between successful women and their romantic relationships with homeless men.
“I partnered with HMPG on these projects to make a difference in people’s lives,” Haddish said in the statement. “I’ve been unhoused before and I know how hard it is to get back on your feet. I also knew that my situation didn’t define me, nor did it make me believe that I was unworthy or unlovable. Everyone deserves a chance at love and a happy home. That’s why I’m making this show.”
The other series is still untitled. The show will center on psychotherapist, author and lecturer Elliott Connie. Details for that series have yet to be fully released.
Angelica Rosas McDaniel, HMPG executive vice president and general manager, entertainment says Haddish is the perfect person to partner with for the productions.
“Tiffany is one of the most dynamic and relatable voices in comedy,” she said in the statement. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with her as we expand HMPG’s general market offerings and develop these authentic, inclusive and engaging stories we are committed to telling.”
