Her tutorial on the look went viral, grabbing the attention from over 2.4 million viewers, and the hashtag #coldgirlmakeup now has over 36.4 million views.
When speaking to Byrdie, Kenealy mentions that she has always been drawn to a flushed look. “Every photo of a girl in cold weather with rosy cheeks gave me all the feels, so I thought I would make a TikTok attempting to create the look,” she recalls. The influencer loves the simplicity of the trend as well. “For one, the look is timely and accessible, making it perfect for beginners.”
How To Achieve The Look
The first step to achieving this look is doing your normal makeup base routine. Once you’ve filled in your eyebrows and added foundation, highlight, and concealer, you’re ready for the next step. Many Tiktokers who have done tutorials on this look make it a point to matte out your base. You can easily do this by setting your face with translucent powder.
The next thing to do is grab your blush. This is one of the staples of the cold girl look. Some influencers start with a cream blush and then cover it with a powder blush. Others tend to skip the cream and go straight to the powder. The best part about this look is that you can achieve it with the products you already have in your makeup bag. If you don’t have cream, don’t worry about it!
You will take your blush and apply it to the highs of the cheeks, on the tip of your nose, and just above the lip. Some even go so far as to suggest placing the blush in non-traditional spots, like the center of your forehead, chin, and nose.
