Born May 11th, 1994 in Folkstone, Georgia, Williams was born into an impressive basketball lineage. She played for Charlton County High School’s basketball team, just as her mother, Michelle Williams, did 22 years earlier at that very same school. While her mother set the single-game scoring record when she scored 40 points, Williams broke it by scoring 42 points in a game.

Enrolling at the University of South Florida, she solidly worked her way from bench to starter. The University of South Florida Athletic Hall of Fame inducted Williams in 2019. This followed a senior year spent hitting 308 field goals, second in the nation among all Division I teams. During one stretch of 10 games in her sophomore year, she scored over 20 points in each game, which was the longest streak in the nation at the time.

Beyond her time in the WNBA, Williams was one of 12 players to play for the US at the 2015 World University games, held in Gwangju, South Korea. The USA ended up winning the gold, with Williams contributing a double-double, 15 points and 10 rebounds.
