Rapper GloRilla shocked fans this week by taking to her Instagram account to seemingly announce that she is pregnant. Now the Memphis native is hinting to who the father of might be.
Fans Skeptical of GloRilla’s Alleged Pregnancy Announcement
Fans shared their surprise when GloRilla posted two images to her social media page on October 23. In them she wore a white bodysuit showing off a very prominent pregnant stomach. The reason for their skepticism is that GloRilla has previously shared that, while she does want children, she does not plan to carry them herself. In an interview with Charlamagne of “The Breakfast Club,” GloRilla revealed that men are trying to “trap her” by getting her pregnant. She also shared that she would like to find a surrogate to carry her children for her.
“I do want to have kids but not my own kids. I want somebody else to have my baby. I want them to have my DNA but I don’t want to have it,” GloRilla told Charlamagne in the interview. “All my friends got kids and they just like, they restricted a lot when they pregnant. I don’t want to go through that.”
The Instagram post showing off her bulging stomach came shortly after that interview was released. Many fans in the comments questions if the announcement was a prank. Some wondered if the stomach was a prosthetic for a project the rapper is working on. Other’s questioned if it was part of a Halloween costume.
GloRilla Responds to Skeptics and Doubles Down on Announcement
On X, formerly Twitter, GloRilla responded to those skeptical of her pregnancy.
“Why would I be wearing a Halloween outfit dis early? Be fr,” the rapper wrote.
GloRilla Posts a Picture with Da’Vinchi Holding Her Stomach
On October 25 after showing off her pregnant belly, GloRilla further shocked her fans by posting images with Haitian-American actor Da’Vinchi. He is best known for his role on “All-American” where he plays Darnell Hayes. He also appeared on eight episodes of the ABC hit show “Grown-ish.” On the Instagram post of the two, GloRilla is wearing the same cream colored bodysuit. Da’Vinchi stands behind her embracing her round stomach a both smile at the camera. The rapper captioned the post with a smiling face surrounded by hearts and prayer hands. Fans still were not convinced.
“This for the music video?” one asked.
Da’Vinchi’s career as an actor made it easy for fans to assume that the pregnancy may simply be part of promotion for GloRilla’s newly released album, “Glorious.” The project is doing well and likely will see additional music videos released to help continue the buzz. It is common for musicians to tap actors and other celebrities to star alongside them in their music videos. So far, Da’Vinchi has not posted anything to his social media accounts about the pregnancy.
Fans Point to a Recent Live Stream as Further Proof
In the comments of GloRilla’s post with Da’Vinchi fans mentioned how GloRilla went live days before the bump picture and didn’t appear to be pregnant.
“Glo stop playing with my mind you was just flat belly on Zoe stream the other day move leave me alone,” one commenter wrote.
The comment was referring to social media personality Zoe Spencer’s live stream posted to YouTube on October 21. In the video GloRilla is seen wearing a yellow jacket and camouflage pants. She is also wearing a midriff top with a noticeably flat stomach. Fans noted that the livestream happened four days before the pregnancy announcement.
