Whoopi Goldberg just decided to set the record straight following an awkward review of the new movie “Till.”
Daily Beast Review
In an awkward Daily Beast review, a since edited erroneous statement alluded mentioned that Goldberg only was “in a distracting fat suit” in her role on “Till.” When Goldberg caught wind of the review, she addressed it on “The View.” In the statement she said:
“I don’t really care how you felt about the movie, but you should know that was not a fat suit. That was me. That was steroids,” said Goldberg.
Goldberg also had some words of advice for the reviewer, stating that it was okay for them to have thoughts about a movie or the acting, but it was best to “leave people’s looks out” of the critiques. This was a sentiment that her co-host Sara Haines agreed with.
Sciatica
For context, last year Goldberg was battling sciatica, a condition that Mayo Clinic refers to as a pain that travels along the path of the sciatic nerve. According to the organization, the sciatic nerve travels from the lower back through the hips and buttocks and down each leg.
The condition caused Goldberg to be hospitalized for a period of time, but she later shared updates about her recovery on “The View.”
