With the 2019 Golden Globes nominations being announced yesterday and the 2019 Grammy Awards nominations gracing the world today, it's safe to say that awards season has officially arrived!

This year, the nominees list is stacked with talented and empowering women. In an interview with Billboard, Grammy president Neil Portow described this year's list as "incredibly relevant and on point". Considering last year's event handed out awards to only 17 women out of the 86 trophies, this year's nominations are a vast improvement in recognizing the artistry females produce each and every year.

For the 2019 ceremony, 15 women are nominated in the four major categories. The highly sought-after 'Album of the Year' category features Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy, Bradi Carlile's By the Way, I Forgive You, H.E.R.'s self-titled album, Janelle Monae's Dirty Computer and Kacey Musgraves' Golden Hour among the nominees.

For the 'Song of the Year' category, 5 female artists are nominated including Ella Mai's "Boo'd Up", Bradi Carlile's "The Joke", SZA's "All The Stars" and Lady Gaga's "Shallow".

For the 'Best New Artist' category, 6 female artists are in the running, such as Chloe x Halle, H.E.R., Dua Lipa, Margo Price, Bebe Rexha and Jorja Smith.

Congratulations to all the female nominees honored for their incredible achievements! Check out some of the reactions from these inspiring women below:
