How you start your day is a huge factor in how the next 24 hours will go.

During the work week, I try my absolute best to remain positive, but sometimes I have to give myself a set of morning rituals. It’s important to have these set habits so that you are able to have a super productive day. To amplify your productivity for the day, here are four things I recommend that you try in the morning to set yourself up for success.

Make a list and check it twice

Lists have always been a big deal to me. I feel like I really have my life together when I can make a well thought out list first thing in the morning. Jotting down what needs to get done each day helps me stay productive as well as organized. You can do this the old fashioned way by using a pen and paper or you can use that handy notepad on your cell phone.

Dress to Impress

Whether you work from home or out of an office, I truly believe that the outfit you choose to wear sets the tone for the day. Dressing your best can mean different things depending on if your workplace has a dress code or not. Just make sure that you feel good in what you’re wearing. Wear what fits your body type and wear it proudly. A little trick I like to do is to try on and set aside an outfit the night before. It saves me an extra few precious minutes of sleep, which is always a plus.

Tackle the hard stuff first

There will always be mundane tasks that we usually dread first thing in the morning because quite frankly, we’d still rather be lying in bed. For me, it’s checking my work email. Being the Boss Lady that I am, my inbox is always flooded with emails. I like to tackle my work inbox first thing instead of pushing it off throughout the day. It encourages me to get my day started knowing that there is not images of an overflowing inbox looming in the back of my mind. Whatever it may be for you, tackle the hard stuff first.

Lastly, don’t skip the important things

It’s almost inevitable to get caught up in the morning rush, but there are some things you don’t want to skip out on. Tasks like making your bed, brushing your teeth, washing your face, even spending some quality time with family or your significant other may not sound like essentials. However, taking the time to do them everyday really can make the rest of your day flow better.

These four easy steps could be all it takes and BAM. You now have the power to take on your morning. Where will you begin?
