Have I ever confessed that eyebrows are one of my favorite parts about doing my makeup, besides applying blinding highlight of course? When you think about it, eyebrows do have a lot of impact on our overall appearance ladies.
Since thick, full “Instagram” brows have gained some traction again, people have been trying all sorts of products to fill in their eyebrows, myself included. Because of this, the brow industry has skyrocketed, coming up with all kinds of new products, from waxes, glosses, gels, brushes, even powders. And, now, it’s up to us to navigate through it all. I love to fill in my brows, and I also make sure that they are threaded or waxed at all times to keep up the shape.
To help narrow down the list, I have gone through many products and today I’m here to share with you some of my favorites!
For beginners
I recommend starting with a pencil if you’re early in your eyebrow journey. They’re usually pretty inexpensive and last a long while. My favorite brand to use is Anastasia’s Brow Definer and Brow Wiz.

Now, I know they aren’t the cheapest, but they are one of the easiest brow liner applicators out there in my opinion. While I use this pencil exclusively to fill in my eyebrows, if you get your eyebrows microbladed or threaded on the regular, you can reserve its use for filling in spots. I also find that once you master how to fill in your brows correctly, you can make that pencil last sis. Mine typically lasts around three months if I’m lucky.
For brush lovers
Sometimes sharpening can get annoying, am I right? Once I wanted to mix things up and try something else other than a pencil, I started exploring different eyebrow powders and other eyebrow kits. While some powders can be purchased separately, most come in a kit with a cream. Typically the powder in the package is used to help set the cream, or fill in sparse spots in the brows. You also need to use an angled brush to apply the product.
My very first kit was the Younique eyebrow kit, complete with a spooly brush and a small angled brush. I have also experimented with the E.L.F’s Eyebrow Kit, which is half cream and half powder kit.

For professionals
Once you’ve mastered all of the products mentioned above, the next step up on your list, and what is considered my holy grail of eyebrow products is the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade. Be aware that it takes a lot of skill to apply correctly. Too many times I have added way too much to my brush and have given myself shaped clown brows. Only use this product when you feel like you have mastered your eyebrows! It’s a bit pricey, but since you use so little, it’s a good splurge.
