Amanda Stenberg has been donning some bookmark-worthy beauty looks for her last few events. For instance, during last month’s BET Awards, the actress graced the red carpet in cornrows wrapped with unicorn-inspired colored hair. Stenberg completed the look with eyeshadow that matched the purple, pink and silver on her crown. Most recently, Stenberg attended a Hollywood Reporter lunch event with her hair in rainbow box braids that were knotted up intricately.
The mastermind behind Stenberg’s hair is Vernon Francois, stylist to star like Tracee Ellis Ross and Lupita Nyong’o. Francois has acknowledged the importance of celebrating natural hair and his responsibility in the industry:
"I think it’s important to recognize my responsibility as an artist and to be able to demonstrate the versatility and the strength of those hair textures," said Vernon Francois in a recent interview. "Yes, there could be ignorance. Yes, there could be racism. But I think it’s really important to take the stance that you’re in the most powerful position to teach someone something about yourself."
