It’s definitely Keke Palmer’s moment right now. That’s not to say the new mom hasn’t always been that girl. But the actress, singer, and host has had an especially bright glow these days. Now, Palmer is preparing for the release of her new album and movie on Friday.
Ahead of the double debut, 21Ninety is taking a look at the project as well as other major moment’s from Palmers “Big Boss” era.
A new movie and album
“Big Boss,” the movie and the album, are set to release on KeyTV on May 12. On Instagram, the creative has shared clips from the movie and songs that will be on the album.
“For so long I was always trying to figure out how to do my music and keep it separate from my acting and I think I found the perfect balance with this project of actually blending my worlds together because I think that’s what makes me unique as an entertainer and as an artist,” Palmer said in a video clip shared to her Instagram account.
Palmer says making a movie and album at the same time was an amazing experience. The film will be Palmer’s directorial debut and will tell the story of her journey in the music industry.
“In the movie you start to see that a lot of times we create this lone wolf identity for ourselves even though we have so much love around us,” Palmer said on Instagram. “It’s just not the love or validation that we are sometimes seeking. So it’s my journey of discovering wha it means to validate yourself.”
Mesmerizing at The Met
Palmer absolutely wowed at the Met Gala 2023. The year’s Met theme honored designer, Karl Lagerfeld. Palmer wore a Sergio Hudson gown to the event. Hudson acted as her date for the night. Palmer’s bouffant hairstyle complimented her sleek, pastel beaded gown with a baby blue cape.
Motherhood suits her
Palmer has graciously shared her motherhood journey with her followers on Instagram. In April, baby Leodis Andrellton Jackson made his first red carpet appearance alongside Palmer and his father, Darius Jackson. The trio was attending the 2023 Atlanta Film Festival for a screening of “Big Boss.”
Palmer has also shared the highs and lows of becoming a new mom on her social media. She has received praise for her realistic depiction of motherhood.
