Throwing a bachelorette party is not for the weak. Organizing one could be considered a full-time job without benefits (except, of course, turning up with your girls). The bride-to-be usually expects a perfect, fun filled celebration. The bridal party’s job is to ensure those demands are met. But what if the budget is limited?

21Ninety has curated a list of fun, budget friendly bachelorette party themes that do not involve traveling.

Bridal Tea Party

Black women, like the rest of the world, have been swept up in the historical and quaint drama of Shonda Rhimes’ shows, “Bridgerton” and “Queen Charlotte.” Cosplaying this show is the perfect idea for a Black bachelorette party theme with a sophisticated twist. The bride and all the ladies in her court (bridal party) should wear a ballgown for this fun theme. Make sure everyone in attendance only refers to the bride as “her royal highness” as she taps into her inner Queen Charlotte. For decor, furnish the event space with blush and floral items. Lean into roses, peonies and lilies for flower choices. The menu should be tea party chic with hor d’oeuvres including croissants, a charcuterie filled with assorted meats and cheeses, and tropical fruits. Make sure to pop a bottle of crisp champagne to add subtle opulence.

Party Bus Celebration

Usually, party buses are used for birthday celebrations. But a party bus is also the perfect way to celebrate the bride while touring a city. If you’ve decided on a co-ed celebration, a party bus can be an easy way to incorporate both bachelorette and bachelor parties. Plus, if everyone is drinking this bachelorette party idea will help avoid anyone drinking and driving. While most party buses come pre-decorated, feel free to bring your own balloons and streamers to spruce up your ride. Don’t forget to curate your favorite playlist.

Dress up As Your Favorite Artists

Beyonce Knowles shook the world with her performance at Coachella. Black women copied her infamous pink and yellow sweatshirts, high-waisted shorts, and iridescent boots following the groundbreaking show. Why not infuse the Bey-chella aesthetic into your bachelorette party theme? Have the bride recreate Knowles’s signature performance look. Make sure she also emulates the superstar’s “queen-like” persona and remains the center of attention the entire night.

Megan Thee Stallion is another Houston icon the bride can transform into if Beyoncé isn’t quite her style. Since Megan Thee Stallion changes her look in almost every social media post, each bridesmaid can dress like different versions of the “hottie.” Whichever star you and your party go with, this is a fun way to honor Black women in music as well as everlasting friendships.

Boat Party Extravaganza

Some brides can’t travel to exotic islands or their favorite getaway destination. But that shouldn’t stop them from reaching peak relaxation out on the water. Most boat tours are cost efficient. Consider a day out on a nearby river or lake. Make sure to spruce up your nautical digs before heading out for a day in the sun.  The more color, the better. Decorate with metallic balloons, party hats and oversized sunglasses. Don’t forget to bring floats that are not only fun but offer great photo opportunities. All that picture taking and swimming is sure to have everyone on board ready for a snack. Curate a food spread full of light bites and aquatic-themed cocktails. Bridesmaids should coordinate vacations-themed bathing suits. Add resort wear to your bridal party for a beach-like vibe.

Private Spa Party

Some brides may be pregnant or want a chill day with their favorite girls. This bachelorette party theme will definitely do the trick. It’s important to communicate with the bride about what makes her feel comfortable. After all, this is her day. The best way to accommodate the bride is to rent out a suite filled with spa chairs modeling a zen-like atmosphere. Make extravagant goodie bags that consist of eye masks, satin robes, and slippers  for the ladies. Don’t forget to hire a masseuse and estheticians to complete your spa day.
