Whether you’re a seasoned naturalista or a newcomer, educating yourself about hair care is essential. From products to hairstyles to addressing specific hair goals, deciding to stay natural is sometimes harder than it looks. Many people turn to the internet for information and advice, including the long form content on YouTube. If you’re looking to take your natural hair to the next level, or simply find a new routine to embrace, these are the YouTubers you need to follow.

Bri Hall, SmartistaBeauty

Bri Hall is a visual artist, musician and beauty content creator. Hall joined YouTube in 2013, and now has over 700,000 loyal followers on the platform. The YouTuber mainly posts videos related to her voluminous natural hair. Her videos include trying DIY hair masks, dyeing her natural hair, and investing in the latest natural hair gadgets. In 2024, she was a guest speaker at The Curly Hair Experience in Toronto, Canada.

“Starting with just a little DSLR camera in my dorm room, I never imagined I’d be here today. The natural hair community has been my rock, my inspiration, and my family,” part of her caption on Instagram read.

If you’re looking to experiment with your natural hair more this season, especially in adding color, Hall’s your go-to.

Kaice Alea, KaiceAlea

Kaice Alea has amassed over 300,000 subscribers on YouTube, and for good reason. The content creator showcases a little bit of everything: wellness, lifestyle and beauty, of course. Her natural hair videos cover a range of topics, including a big chop Q&A and a moisturizing and growth routine for short natural hair. In 2024, Alea took to YouTube to display her loc journey. You can find a detailed loc diaries playlist on her channel. Alea’s natural hair content is best for the people who want to embrace versatile styles. In addition, if long hair (even if it’s natural) isn’t your thing, Alea showcases a lot of shorter natural hairstyles.

Isimeme Edeko-Woodard, Isimeme Edeko

Isimeme Edeko is only 30 years old but she’s a big dog in the YouTube community. The lifestyle content creator has been active on social media since she was running track in college. Now, with close to 1 million subscribers, Edeko posts lifestyle vlogs, advice chit-chat videos, and detailed content about maintaining natural hair. As a 4c hair naturalista, Edeko’s videos cater to Black women with tight curls. One of her most popular natural hair videos is “A Week In My Natural Hair.” The series showcases the ins and outs of wearing your natural hair full-time, Sunday to Sunday. These natural hair-style vlogs feature Edeko’s favorite products, staple routines, and go-to hairstyles to gain some inspiration. Her videos are a great fit for those looking to wear their natural hair more consistently.

Whitney White, Naptural85

Whitney White is the OG naturalista YouTuber. White, aka @Naptural85 has posted natural hair videos on YouTube since 2008. In the beginning, the content creator was simply documenting her natural hair growth journey, including her DIY hair butter and oil. For those who are just starting their natural hair journey, or looking to get longer hair, White’s channel is for you. Years after starting her channel, White used her wealth of knowledge to create a natural hair business in 2015. In collaboration with her sister Taffeta, White launched Melanin Haircare, a brand for Black women, created by Black women. The site offers oil, revving shampoo and even satin head wraps to keep your natural hair protected. White’s brand is even available at Sephora to shop in person.
