Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour is now the highest-grossing tour by a Black female artist. This is an especially staggering milestone considering she was the one who last held that title for her 2016 Formation World Tour. In May, Forbes posted that Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour could earn as much as $2.1 billion. This figure suggests that the “Break My Soul” singer could outearn Taylor Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour by $500,000. Swift is predicted to earn $1.6 billion off her current tour. Predictions are based on a number of factors including ticket sales, ticket prices, number of shows, and merchandise.
In June, Billboard reported that Beyoncé brought in $154 million on the European leg of her widely popular tour. As Billboard noted, “The so-far $154 million-plus total from 21 shows over two months is more than any artist made in the six-month window.” The European leg saw 1.05 million attendees, the first time any of Beyoncé’s tours will surpass the seven-figure milestone.
Billboard further reported that “Of the 14 markets Beyoncé hit, 12 of them yielded local records. That includes the biggest gross in the history of London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Warsaw’s PGE Narodowy, plus the attendance record at Tottenham. Elsewhere, she set highs for single-night engagements and broke ground among women and Black artists throughout Europe.”
A Tour To Remember
Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour has been peppered with numerous unforgettable moments. There have been gorgeous outfits, many moments of solidarity, celebrations, proposals, viral performances from Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy. There’s also an ongoing battle to see which city stays quiet the longest when the line “Look around everybody on mute,” from her song “Energy” comes up. The tour is quickly shaping up into a strong culture-shifting event and could potentially lead Beyoncé into the Billionaire Club alongside her husband Jay-Z.
