Although it’s difficult to find much personal information on Kenya O’Neil (Fesa Nu) the Houston raised, LA native arts speaks volumes to who she is, alone. She may have even wanted it that way. Her designs are intricate, delicate and unique. She doesn’t look at hair as just “hair,” she looks at hair as an art canvas.
In an interview she did with Vogue, the designer shared that she wants those who view her designs to look at them like poetry. “I call myself a hair poet so that people know what they’re going to get when they book Fesa. You’re going to get some poetry,” she said.

She recently worked on her own personal project, “The Art Of Hair.” In an interview, she mentions that the project was created to “inspire, embrace and help plant a powerful seed of love in our youth and those that need a small nudge to remember who we are, where we come from and what we stand for!” She mentions that she was inspired by her love for Africa.
