I feel like most of us would like to treat the Earth a little better. I used to have a cynical view as to why I should even bother helping the environment because I’m "only one person," but that’s actually all it takes — one person taking action and seeing what they can do to help. As more and more people make the decision to live an environmentally friendly life, it will make a substantial impact.
In my attempt to be more environmentally aware, I’ve discovered a few ways to live green that are easy to incorporate into my daily routine. If you're like me, you’re wanting to help the environment by changing some of your everyday habits. Here are four simple ways to get in on the cause that hardly take any effort at all.
1. MAKE THE SWITCH TO ECO-FRIENDLY PRODUCTS

As a beauty obsessive, the easiest way to make a difference is by using more eco-friendly and cruelty-free products. While this might sound a little too hard, there are ways to do this that don’t involve mixing up soap in your own bathroom. A lot of brands like Lush, RMS Beauty, Juice Beauty, W3ll People, Real Purity are going natural these days, plus there’s also a vast handmade beauty market that’s growing more and more each day!
2. SWITCH TO ALL NATURAL TOOTHPASTE PRODUCTS

One change I’ve made this year is switching to an all-natural toothpaste.
Any flavor of Tom's of Maine Luminous White Toothpaste is a great choice, honestly. It is an excellent toothpaste to help maintain a healthy, beaming smile. It’s also an attractive option for someone wanting to live more eco-friendly because it is a natural product made with biodegradable ingredients with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
3. LEARN TO UNPLUG

This may sound like a “social media is bad for you” rant that's about to start, but I actually mean this quite literally. We’ve become a society that's heavily addicted to technology, and even when not in use, our electronics stay plugged in, consuming energy that can really add up over time.
The moral of the story is that when you’re not using something, unplug it from the wall. Not only will this help you save on electricity consumption, but it will also allow your electronics to last longer since they’re not always running in the background.
4. CREATE A RECYCLING ROUTINE

One of the most significant ways we can take care of Mother Earth is by recycling. As a society, we create and consume so many products that use an abundance of papers, plastics, and metals, and these are all just piling up in landfills and garbage dumps.
To start recycling today, all you have to do is do a little research and make a call. Look up your local collection center and find out what kinds of things can be recycled in your area. Then, schedule a call to set up a pick-up service as well as getting a can for recyclables. It is also beneficial to pick a day to help clean up your city or town.
