Nick Cannon is at it again. But instead of another pregnancy announcement, social media is reacting to his recent babymoon getaway.

Nick Cannon and Abby De La Rosa Celebrate Her Pregnancy

Nick Cannon and the mother of their two twins, Abby De La Rosa, recently went on a babymoon to celebrate her newest pregnancy. The couple already share two sons together — Zion and Zillion. And over the summer, the pair revealed that they were adding a third branch to their family tree.

This week, De La Rosa took to her IG Story to post about her recent vacay. She shared a carousel of photos, including one of a hotel welcome note and plenty of her frolicking at the beach. But she wasn’t alone in the photos. Instead, a man is seen holding her hand in one of the pictures, though his identity isn’t clearly visible.

Fans figured it was safe to assume the man in question was Nick Cannon after she later posted a picture of the two posing together.

What is a Babymoon?

A babymoon is a way for parents to celebrate their pregnancy, whether the baby is on the way or already here.

Pregnancy can be challenging for a lot of women. From morning sickness to gas and bloating, the journey towards motherhood can be pretty bumpy at times. The good news is that babymoons can also serve as a way for mothers to pamper themselves. Spending time away from home is helpful for reducing stress and improving your mood — a welcome solution for anxious new Moms.

For many women, having a baby is cause of celebration. And babymoons are a way for couples to celebrate their growing family. If you’re planning to add to your family tree, you deserve to treat yourself. Here are five tips for how to plan your babymoon:

Set a Time and Place

When planning a babymoon, the most important thing to decide is when and where to go. You can kick up your feet at the beach or rent a cabin in the snow. Or maybe you would rather spend a quiet evening at home.

Next, consider the duration of your babymoon. How long you celebrate can depend on whether you plan your babymoon before or after the baby arrives. If before, you may have more time to enjoy a longer vacay.

Many couples choose to go on a babymoon after the baby is born, but before they go back to work. This gives them a chance to get to know their baby and start to establish a routine before returning to the office.

So consider whether to plan a weeknight getaway or a weeklong vacation. Either way, the choice is yours to make.

Plan What To Do

Children, especially babies, require a lot of attention. So much so that many parents start feeling burnt out after caring for a newborn infant over time. Fortunately, a babymoon allows parents to take a break from their responsibilities and, instead, have some fun.

There are a number of ways to have fun on a babymoon. The best part? You get to decide what to do.

So after you’ve decided where to go, it’s time to plan your itinerary. Are you a foodie who likes to try new foods? Consider adding a food tour to your travel plans. Or maybe you’re a nature lover who enjoys the Great Outdoors. In that case, you can spend a day in a national park or go jet skiing at the beach.

If you’re unsure, you can book with a travel agent who can help you prepare your To-Do list. Or consider hiring a tour company to learn about the area you plan to visit.

Whether you’re driving, flying, or cruising to your babymoon location, you’ll need to pack for the ride. And since pregnancy can take a toll on a woman’s body, it’s important that new and expecting mothers remain as comfortable during the trip as possible.

Consider Your Budget

A BIG part of family planning includes financial planning. Children are expensive, so many couples start saving up as soon as they find out they’re expecting. For this reason, families tend to put ‘fun’ on the backburner to prepare for their new addition. So when it comes to planning a babymoon, money is an important topic of conversation.

You can plan for your babymoon by creating a budget. To do this, start by researching the cost of the trip, including lodging, meals, and recreation. Then, decide how much you need to save per month to reach your financial goal in time for the vacay.

Don’t forget to put away a little extra cash in case of an emergency. Also, determine a maximum budget to adhere to so that the money you put towards your trip doesn’t affect your overall finances.

Talk to Your Doctor

When a woman is pregnant, her immune system weakens, causing her to become more susceptible to ailments such as the common cold or the flu. And because expecting mothers are in such a vulnerable state during their pregnancies, it’s important to take the necessary precautions to ensure their health and safety is never compromised.

So before planning a babymoon, schedule an appointment to meet with your doctor to obtain clearance for the trip. Ensure that your medical history and health insurance are up-to-date in case of emergency in another state or country.

And don’t forget about prenatal care! If you plan to travel abroad, speak with your doctor about care options for international travelers.
