Have you recently taken a long hiatus from working out? Same girl, same. Getting back into a workout routine can seem intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be.

If you have fallen off the fitness track, don’t be discouraged. Here are some super easy tips to help you get back on track. Just keep in mind, your level of progression depends on how active you were before and how much time you have taken off.

Start with some flexibility workouts

Begin your routine with beginner yoga pilates or stretching classes. That way, you can begin increasing your stamina and flexibility as you ease yourself back into your workouts.

Add some easy cardio

Head to the local parks, trails, maybe even your neighborhood and try to walk at least a mile or two daily.

Try a new workout series on Youtube

I’m thinking either Fitnessblender or PopSugar Fitness.  You can customize these videos dependent upon your fitness goals, and you can usually find beginner videos under 30 minutes on their site.

Commit to a 5K-10K

This type of run is something you can build up to, and it can feel so rewarding when you complete the task. So, purchase that ticket, so there are no backing out or excuse and then begin training for said 5K ASAP.

Try a fun fitness app

Download an app like Daily Burn or Fitness Buddy and get to customizing! This is a fun way to mix things up from the daily routine and an easy way to customize the hardness or challenge based on your level and goals.

Ease into strength training

After you have warmed up a bit to the idea of working out again, start gently into strength training. You don't want to overextend or pull any muscles. Easy exercises like squats, curls, stability mall mobility and crunches will help to improve posture and redevelop that core strength you have been missing since your workout hiatus.
