Singer Kelly Rowland is bursting with pride over Blue Ivy’s recent appearance on the Renaissance World Tour stage. Rowland discussed the girl’s dancing skills while visiting the TODAY Show for her new Audible series, “Breakthrough.”
Rowland’s New Project
“Breakthrough” is an audio-only, singing and songwriting competition series. The new Audible original, strips away all the superficial to reaffirm what matters the most, pure talent. Judges include Kelly Rowland, Sara Bareilles, and is hosted by Daveed Diggs.
A Proud Moment
During her TODAY Show appearance, the Destiny’s Child alum reacted to Blue Ivy Carter taking the stage with Beyonce. The “Coffee” singer said she is “proud” of Blue Ivy for performing in front of a stadium full of people with her mom.
“I’m so proud of her,” Rowland said on TODAY. “She’s absolutely awesome.”
Blue performed with her mom on her Paris and London tour stops. It wasn’t the first time Blue stepped into the spotlight with her famous mother. The 11-year-old also joined Beyonce on stage in Dubai to sing “Brown Skin Girl” before the Renaissance Tour started.
Family Affair?
TODAY’s Al Roker asked Rowland whether her kids, Titan and Noah, will perform with her one day.
“If they want to,” Rowland answered. “It’s no pressure.”
The mom of two also acknowledged that entering the world of entertainment may not be what her children desire to do.
“Titan is more focused on saving the oceans right now,” she said. “I will follow him into that journey and help him do it as best I can and surround him with the right people to help him do that as best I can.”
She did say the youngest, Noah, was already singing. But she won’t sway either child to pursue a music career.
“Whatever they’re destined to be, that’s what I want them to become,” she said, adding, “No pun intended.”
