Lupita is the queen of turning heads on a red carpet, on screen and just about anywhere if we’re being honest. The Kenyan actress and Yale graduate has put on stunning performances for every role she’s been in. In her most recent film, Black Panther, Nyong’o played Nakia — a Wakandan spy, member of War Dogs and T’Challa’s lover.

On the red carpet, however, Lupita celebrates her naked self through makeup. She’s not only been known to wear gorgeous dresses, she also dons some very iconic, bold and beautiful makeup looks.

Nyong’o’s longtime makeup artist, Nick Barose, has worked with stars like Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jessica Williams and Samira Wiley. Barose finds inspiration from things like ancient Egyptian goddesses, Thierry Mugler, as well as vintage magazines and runways.

While Lupita looks gorgeous in just about anything, even a bare-face — Barose slays her makeup for any event or photoshoot and we’re not one bit mad at it.

Lupita dons jewels around her eyes with a rosy lip and very fun earrings for the ACE awards.

Lupita sure knows how to wear a bold eye! The lip is subtle but adds just enough to have its own pop.

Barose gave Nyong'o a bold cat eye and custom gold lips for the CFDA awards. That gold is everything against her complexion.

While in Cannes, Lupita wore a turquoise crease for a 60s vibe to a Chopard event.

Barose was inspired by Egypt for the goddess Nyong'o and gave her a bold, glittery blue liner and glow that's just enough to make her dewy but not too shiny.

These aren't just cat eyes — Barose calls them "panther eyes." They feature flicks on the end of the liner and he complimented the eye look with a bold red lip.

For London's premiere of Black Panther, Nyong'o donned a burgundy lip with a stunning midnight blue on the eyes.

For the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere, Lupita went for a more subtle eye but made her face pop with a bold fuchsia lip.
