Many women have been leaving the natural hair world and going back to using chemicals and heat. With that comes sew-ins and quick weaves! Although these styles may have become popular, many still find themselves a little embarrassed to walk out of the house because their leave out isn’t blended properly. We’ve got the trick that TikTok has been gushing over.

Trying out the blending technique I saw @FinessedbyAkia do on her clients. It’s a game changer for me! #blackgirltiktok #sewinweavewithleaveout #fyp #naturalhair #shorthair

The secret method is simple; mousse. Yes ladies, that wrapping foam you use to tame your lace front wigs can finally be taken out the closet and put to good use! Once you have laid down your tracks you will then take a few pumps of the mousse to your leave out. With a comb, evenly distribute the product over your leave out while guiding the hair down in the direction of which you want it to lay over the tracks. Then you will take a scarf or wrapping paper and tightly secure it over the hair and sit under a dryer for 10-15 minutes.

Once you come out from under the dryer, you will notice your leave out is laying down effortlessly. This is the same process stylists use to lay down a pixie cut. The mousse allows your hair to be more cooperative with styling.

The next step is to style the leave out. A great suggestion would be to use a wax stick to help with the shine and slickness of your natural hair. Once you’ve done this, you will then add just a little more heat to the leave out. Some choose to use a flat iron and others choose to use a hot comb. There’s no right or wrong decision, just choose what’s best for you!

This method has had TikTok in a chokehold, so it’s bound to produce some great results. What say you?
