Whoever said makeup wasn’t an art-form will eat their words once they get a look at the masterpieces Romaine-Jade Tulloch creates. The 19-year-old self-taught makeup artist and painter combined her love for both art forms and began using her face as a canvas to showcase some mind-blowing looks.

RJ, whose Instagram handle is @cakefacerj, features makeup looks that feature bold colors on her eyes and lips, but she doesn’t stop there — there are some optical illusions she masterfully crafts to showcase on her social media.

In a recent interview with Insider, RJ stated that she first started creating makeup looks last July with hopes of becoming a freelance makeup artist. She taught herself how to create bold looks through other YouTube tutorials and got into her own groove, creating unique looks. She now has her own tutorials and YouTube channel where she takes her viewers through her makeup hauls, reviews and tutorials.

RJ’s mother did a lot of the schooling throughout her life, but she spent two years in college learning and diving into fine arts. When she isn’t WOWing us with her makeup looks, RJ’s other Instagram account,  =@_rj_art, features her paintings, sketches and drawings, which are equally as great.
