It’s 2022, we are no longer struggling. We are living soft lives from now on. Pampering yourself is a key staple in living a soft life. What better way to pamper yourself than a nice warm bath? Here’s a guide on the best baths to take to further pamper your body and your mind.

Oatmeal Bath

Oatmeal baths are perfect to sensitive skin. If you want a relaxing bath but are afraid of flare ups, this is your go to. Oatmeal has a lot of antioxidants and is proven to help soothe skin. If you have skin issues such as eczema, this is known to help relieve any pain you may have.

For an oatmeal bath, you can put dry oats in a blender and throw that under your running bath water and make sure it dissolves. You can also take a few spoonfuls of dry oats to put in a nylon stocking or muslin fabric and tie it. You would then “steep” your bath with the pouch you just made, as you would with tea!

Ginger Bath

Ginger baths are rumored to help ease cold and flu symptoms. While there is no actual evidence of this, it doesn’t hurt to add it to your bath! Aside from the possible cold killer traits, it actually serves as a detox for your body.  Ginger speeds up circulation which creates heat and allows your body to sweat, getting rid of toxins in the body.

Prepping a ginger bath is relatively easy! You can grate a half cup of fresh ginger and add it to your bath. Shea Moisture also sells an African Water Mint and Bubble Bath Body Wash that can be used in lieu of actual ginger.

Milk Bath

Fun fact: it is believed that Cleopatra used to take donkey milk baths in order to preserve her beauty. To me, that is enough of a reason to take one. Milk baths can help hydrate and soothe your skin, improve inflammatory skin conditions as well as promote healthy aging.

Preparing a milk bath is just as simple as it sounds. You would just run your bath water and add your desired milk into the bath. Each type has their own benefits. Cleopatra chose donkey milk, but since there isn’t much of that going around you can choose from almond milk, coconut milk, buttermilk, goat milk and even breast milk. The possibilities are endless!

Apple Cider Vinegar Bath

Raw apple cider has been proven to have many benefits alone. From helping with weight loss to infectious diseases to diabetes and more, it is one to count on. Its antimicrobial properties also help ease skin infections and soothe irritation. Since it also has acidic properties, the ACV can also help restore the skin’s pH balance.

This is yet another simple bath to prep. Just run warm (not hot) bath water and add about 2 cups of raw apple cider vinegar. You should only soak in it for about 15-20 minutes. When you’re done, make sure to rinse!
