Fans have been begging Summer Walker for years to do more on stage during her performances. The singer is known for having low-energy during her shows although she always has a packed crowd for every gig. Her true ride-or-die fans continuously support her but have wanted to see more from the songstress. Now, it seems as though the calls for more showmanship have been heard. Walker has tapped creative visionary, Teyana Taylor to help with an upcoming performance.

The singer shared the news with her Instagram followers.

“I’ve been working so hard with @teyanataylor to get ready for the one night only June 1 show in Atlanta,” she shared in the caption.

Walker just dropped her newest EP, “Clear 2: Soft Life.” To celebrate, she announced a special one night only concert in Atlanta on June 1. The performance will include a live orchestra and she will debut hits from the new project as well. Presale for the tickets started Tuesday and general sales open Friday at 10 a.m. EST.

The new project serves as a sequel to her 2019 “Clear” EP. In an interview with Billboard, the singer sharefd her excitement about the sequel.

“The last one was like four songs. This one — I want it to be a lot longer so I can really get that sound out,” she told Billboard. “That’s my favorite type of sound. I make what I got to make for the radio, but I’m very excited for [Clear 2]. Hopefully, my budget will be permitted. [If not], we got to protest.”

Summer Walker Working With Teyana Taylor

For years, Walker has shared that she deals with severe social anxiety and fears around performing. Fans of the singer have defended her lack of energy on stage due to her anxiety but some have expressed the desire to see more. In early May, Walker took to Instagram to tease fans who compared her stilted stage performances to videos released on social media that showed her playfully twerking with friends. In a video response to the comparisons, Walker sarcastically twerked to one of her slow songs asking fans if that is what they wanted from her on stage.

Although she may have been poking fun at her fans in the social media response, it appears she is finally going to give them what they want by tapping into the talents of Taylor. Taylor recently announced that she is also the creative director behind Latto’s performances. Since taking on the role, fans have noticed an improvement in Latto’s performances and stage presence. Judging from the clip Summer Walker posted announcing the new creative partnership, the same results may very well be in store for the “Over it” singer.
