Singer and songwriter, Keke Wyatt, is best known for her rich voice and huge family of children.
The forty year old is currently a mother of ten and recently revealed earlier this year, that she is currently expecting her eleventh child with husband Zackariah Darring.
Wyatt shared the news with her 1.6 million Instagram followers on Feb. 20th by posting a picture of her family, captioned, “My husband, Zackariah David Darring and I are proud to announce that our family will be adding a “plus 1″ to the Wyatt bunch!” One of Wyatt’s daughters can be seen rubbing on the star’s pregnant belly.
Although Wyatt has a baby on board, she hasn’t let that slow her down at all. The singer has recently made performance stops in Alabama, New York, Georgia, and Tennessee to share her vocals.
However, during a recent performance, Wyatt transparently revealed to the crowd that her unborn baby has, unfortunately, been diagnosed with a severe genetic disorder called Trisomy 13. Trisomy 13 is a rare chromosomal disorder which can lead to heart defects, brain or spinal cord abnormalities, small or poorly developed eyes, extra finger and toes and other dire health complications. It is even reported that “few babies diagnosed live beyond a few months.”
Unfortunately, since sharing the news, Wyatt has had to respond to vicious and insensitive comments from social media users. She hopped back on Instagram last night to write, “I’d like to send a special prayer for the rude, cruel people that took the time out of their day to get on social media and make disparaging and morbid comments concerning my pregnancy.”
She explained that her intention in sharing the news about her unborn child was to uplift other expecting mother’s dealing with the same battle. And ended by stating that her and her family will “continue to believe the report of the Lord!”
